Birth maybe one of the most amazing events to happen in your life. Its a roller coaster. Its spectacular. And its an experience you remember forever. People often ask, why hire a birth photographer? Having a birth photographer ensures that you have those memories captured as something tangible to look at in years to come and to share with your little one. I am there to document the story of your child being born. Raw, unscripted, and absolutely beautiful.

Its also my job to take the pressure off your partner and let them focus 100% on you. Both of you can rest assure that those special moments are being captured. All the firsts of you little ones new life. Especially those intimate moments between the baby, you and your family. As beautiful as it is, birth can be demanding and you are often tired (maybe exhausted) when your little one arrives.

Frequently Asked Questions
If I go into labor outside of the 4 week window, "the on-call month" what happens?

I would do everything in my power to make be there for you, I just wouldn’t be able to guarantee it. But its more than likely I would be able to be there for you. The 4 week window just guarantees I am on call exclusively available to you 24/7. The window can shift for example if you’re assuming your due date to be on the earlier side we could move the window 3 weeks before your due date and have the fourth week after your due date. What happens once I go into labor, how soon do you arrive? What happens once I go into labor, how soon do you arrive?

If you decide to move forward we can go over this in more detail but the idea is that you’d contact me as soon as you *think* you might be in labor so I can begin making plans to be there for you. Even if it’s 2 a.m, even if it’s a false alarm, I'd much rather be ready to go than to miss it!  Then please have someone contact me again when it’s confirmed that you’re in active labor (when you’re about 5-6cm dilated), and I will start making my way to you. From the time of the initial contact I will need 2 1/2 hour worst case but I will do everything in my power to be there as soon as need be.

What if I am having a c-section?

It depends on the hospital you’re delivering at whether I can be in the operating room with you or not, but there are still so many special and important moments I would be able to capture during your labor and post-delivery. Each birth experience is absolutely worth photographing.

Do I share the images I take?

Because of the intimate nature of a birth you have the choice as to whether you want them shared or not. We can also discuss the content you would like included in both the video and slideshow for friends and family. For example we could leave out more explicit images on the video for sharing if that feels better to you. We can also discuss before-hand if there are certain things you do not want photographed.

What is your image turn around time?

I will send you a few teasers shortly after the birth, the slideshow within 2 weeks and the video one week after that.
