FAMILY SUNSET SESSIONS

Why at Sunset? The light is quite simply, the best. Great light is really worth waiting for and it will make all the difference, I promise. I know it can be a bit late for kiddos especially in the middle of summer but they will have so much fun it won’t really matter. I can almost guarantee it.

Choosing a location.

We have so many BEAUTIFUL places around us here in the PNW to choose from for your next session. Please don’t feel overwhelmed if you don’t know where to start. I am happy to help and have a list of great locations that I am happy to send your way!  Please don’t put that much pressure on it, no matter where you are or what you do the photos will be beautiful and will highlight the and magic between you and your family.

A few frequently asked questions.

Who can I invite to my session?

I LOVE when clients bring their furbabies along – after all they are a part of the family! And if grandparents want to join in on your family photos, please tell them they are welcomed at no extra charge. Family sessions are limited to immediate members of the family only. Custom packages are available if you want extended family or friends there too!

What should I wear?

At the end of day you need to be you and be comfortable and ready to have a great time. But I can offer a few tips. Neutrals can help photos look effortless and timeless. Layers and textures add depth and interesting aspects to images that I just love. Think lots of layers and textures but not necessarily different colors of patterns. When it comes to choosing colors, don’t match perfectly. I have more details on these in my helpful “what to wear” guide that I am happy to send to you.

Do I get a raincheck?

If the weather is bad the day of your scheduled session we will re schedule for the soonest possible date that works for both of us. In the rainy part of the year, November – June, Little Louisa allows for one reschedule due to weather. (We do live in Seattle) But don’t worry, I have a list of really great indoor places. And in home sessions can be the awesome!!

What if my kids have a meltdown?

I try to make the session as fun and easy, especially for the parents. I usually don’t make kids freeze in one un natural pose after another asking them to sit for too long. I always say these sessions should be like you and the kids are on a family outing and having fun. But don’t worry, we will get always get great images of the entire family together. It is good to keep in mind that all moments in childhood are ones to remember because they are real. And the moments after the storm filled with hugs and love can be so real and endearing. Kids will be kids but don’t worry we will get them having fun too!
